Rabat hosts AAAEXPO 2026, the first pan-African platform for the amusement, attractions and leisure industries

From 21 to 24 October 2026, operators, manufacturers, investors and decision-makers from some twenty countries will gather in the Moroccan capital to shape the leisure experiences of tomorrow in Africa.

From 21 to 24 October 2026, Rabat will host the first edition of AAAEXPO – Africa Amusement & Attractions Expo, a new professional platform dedicated to the amusement, attractions and leisure industries.

For four days, the Moroccan capital will bring together more than 100 exhibitors, more than 10,000 expected trade visitors and some twenty countries, around a sector undergoing deep transformation and rich in new opportunities.

The ambition is to make Rabat a lasting meeting point between international supply and the projects shaping the African leisure market.

Designed as a space for encounters, reflection and business rather than a conventional trade show, AAAEXPO sets out to connect international manufacturers and suppliers with the continent’s operators, investors, project developers, tourism and hospitality professionals, shopping centres, architects, creatives, institutions and public decision-makers.

  • An industry that has changed in nature

  • The leisure industry is no longer measured by the number of attractions.

Audiences now look for experiences, emotions, stories, places they can project themselves into. This shift is profoundly redefining expectations for amusement parks, leisure centres, hotels and resorts, shopping centres and tourist destinations.

It is precisely at this crossroads that AAAEXPO positions itself.

The exhibition will bring together every component of the ecosystem: amusement parks, water parks, Family Entertainment Centers, arcade and gaming, virtual and augmented reality, immersive technologies, tourism and visitor-experience solutions.

Four dimensions, one logic: bringing projects to life

The event rests on a simple conviction: the industry moves forward when those who imagine experiences meet those who have the means to develop them.

It is built around four complementary strands:

  • A professional exhibition, bringing together international manufacturers, suppliers and players around the sector’s latest innovations.

  • Hands-on workshops, designed for sharing expertise and providing tools directly applicable to ongoing projects.

  • A programme of conferences and panels, led by leading experts and entrepreneurs.

  • Structured B2B and B2G meetings, connecting exhibitors with investors, operators, project sponsors and public decision-makers.

Morocco, a bridge between international markets and Africa
The choice of the Kingdom for this first edition is no accident.

At the crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Arab world, Morocco has a developing tourism ecosystem and a clear ambition in terms of territorial attractiveness and diversification of its offer.

AAAEXPO is fully part of this dynamic and benefits from the support of the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) as institutional partner.

A public institution tasked with contributing to the development of national tourism products, SMIT places the attractiveness of territories at the heart of its action — a vision that meets that of the show: making leisure and experience levers for destination development.

Underlying it all is a shared conviction: beyond an already rich tourism offer, Morocco and the African continent are destined to assert themselves as fully fledged leisure and attractions destinations.

A continent with considerable prospects

A young population, rapid urbanisation, an expanding tourism economy: Africa’s potential in leisure and entertainment is immense.

Cities are transforming, shopping centres are becoming places to live, hotels and resorts are enriching their offer, destinations are seeking to extend length of stay, and new leisure projects emerge every year.

AAAEXPO intends to support this movement by facilitating exchanges, investments, partnerships and the transfer of know-how between international players and African project sponsors.

The ambition is clear: to establish a lasting bridge between global supply and the continent’s opportunities.

When leisure becomes an experience

  • The conference programme will devote considerable space to this shift.

  • How do you design an attraction that leaves a lasting emotional imprint?

  • How do you tell a story through a space?

  • What role for music, sound and storytelling in an immersive experience?

  • How are gaming and emerging technologies transforming our relationship with entertainment?

  • How can heritage and culture be turned into living experiences for new generations?

  • And, as the offer expands, how can visitor safety and security in amusement parks be guaranteed, along with the reliability and compliance of leisure equipment?

  • Above all: how do you create, in Africa, experiences that are economically viable, culturally relevant and capable of rivalling the world’s best destinations?

To answer these questions, AAAEXPO will bring together a number of prominent figures and distinguished guests, both Moroccan and international, representing various institutions and companies linked to the attractions and leisure industry: themed entertainment and experience design experts, park operators, creative studios, technology players, tourism institutions and public decision-makers.

A continental ambition

Beyond the business gathering, Morocco intends to contribute to the emergence of a genuine African leisure and attractions industry, by encouraging exchanges between markets and giving greater visibility to the continent’s talents, companies and projects.

  • For international exhibitors, AAAEXPO opens access to a fast-evolving market.

  • For investors and developers, it is an opportunity to discover concepts, solutions and partners.

  • For operators, a place to identify the technologies and know-how that can serve their projects.

  • For institutions and tourism stakeholders, a space to reflect on the contribution of leisure to territorial attractiveness.

  • For four days, Rabat will be the meeting point of an industry whose vocation is universal: creating places where people come together, marvel, play, discover and make memories.
